Vans Downtown Showdown was really good fun. It’s great seeing a contest run by skaters, designed by skaters, with some pretty big cheques for skaters. If you couldn’t make it, keep checking the blog for the next few days as more updates will appear I am sure. Anyway, here are some shots from SuperDead’s East London pub, complete with beer kegs and all. Thanks to Vans and everyone else involved for such a good time…
Stockwell has always attracted rad and creative wood pushers and Bmexicans. Out of Stock Exhibition at Stolen Gallery is celebration of all this. Be sure to get your arse down there!

After a couple of weeks of public holidays, those extra chances to hit up otherwise unskateable city/weekday spots and generally avoid Royal Weddings make getting back into work/emails/waking up/being bothered at all that bit harder.
Which is what Youtube was made for.
Which is where I found this amusing/awesome little number:
Those folk over at Grey are launching Issue 4 with a shindig and film screening. Will be high quality as always.

I regret to say I never met Bingo in real life. We probably were in the same location many times for comps at Northampton, Playstation, St Albans over the decades. We conversed on the internet over many years and would have long telephone chats about skateplanking and its awesomeness. He contributed a few times to Tweaker and I am sure to Sidewalk, and Doco too. He helped out immensely my company when we compiled a list of skateboard trivia for Nike SB. I feel an empty void right now, So I can’t comprehend what folk who – skated, filmed, shared beer or nandos with him, and those who were part of his fam, – must be going through right now. What ever he did seemed so completely solid, that it came as a massive shock that he has left us.
On behalf of Tweaker we dedicate the Wu track above, and send condolences to those who were close to him. RIP Bingo
Tweaker has been undergoing some extensive research, Inspired by both the 1980′s FBCC sticker: “Skateboarding Is Not a Doner Kebab”, and the recent research by Mr Alan Glass of Bristol in the Fried Chicken. We give you a statistical analysis of Chicken, Kebabs and Skateboarding, between the years 1960 and 2008. This data is pulled form the scanning of published books by google, and searches frequencies of the words “skateboard”, “kebab” and “Fried Chicken”. Fascinating stuff eh?
As you can see there is a direct corralation around 2005 between skateboarding and Fried Chicken.
